Memorial, museum and Ground Zero
The outdoor memorial can be visited separately from the indoor museum. Guided tours around Ground Zero discuss the site and surrounding Lower Manhattan, while the museum contains artifacts and personal accounts.
Because this is a place of remembrance, choose a pace and format appropriate for your group.
What to know before booking
Confirm the museum entry time, meeting point, security procedures, accessibility and whether the guide enters the museum with the group.
Questions travelers ask
Is the 9/11 Memorial the same as the museum?
No. The memorial is outdoors; the museum is a separate indoor, ticketed experience.
Do Ground Zero tours include museum tickets?
Some do and some do not. Admission must be explicitly listed.
How should families plan the visit?
Review the museum's subject matter and current visitor guidance, then choose a visit length appropriate for the children in your group.
